gotta love that man. #brian4prez
In light of women being denied the opportunity to fight for equal pay. In light of conservatives citing “religious freedom” when siphoning a woman’s right to make a choice regarding her own reproductive health. In light of GOP dismissal of women’s health issues as “shiny objects” rather than legitimate social and economic crises in this god forsaken country,
women deserve better.
Mitt Romney’s senior campaign adviser, Eric Fehrnstrom, on Sunday said that social issues important to women, like contraception coverage and abortion rights, were “shiny objects” that were being used to distract voters. […]
“Mitt Romney is pro-life,” the senior adviser admitted to ABC’s George Stephanopoulos. “He’ll govern as a pro-life president, but you’re going to see the Democrats use all sorts of shiny objects to distract people’s attention from the Obama performance on the economy. This is not a social issue election.”
Not to worry Mitt! You’ll soon be dismissed & become as irrelevant as your fat bloated face, bad hair and maniacal belief system! PS, you incompetent inbred redneck, women’s issues are human issues. reproduction and women’s healthcare are social and economic issues. if you bothered to remove your dick from your hand and open your blueblooded eyes to reality, perhaps you would notice that you don’t have a snowflakes shot in hell in this election.
Hate you,
Everyone on Earth with a neuron between their ears

it’s so hard for me not to get into it with outspoken (& simultaneously misinformed) conservatives on twitter. i try to dismiss it all as petty cyberbullying. but it matters. when people with 20K followers tweets a rally to “defund planned parenthood” or “get rid of social security, end welfare, end headstart, medicare” (it’s @kurtschlichter, by the way) the issue is that they have a platform now, and people are listening. they treat these right wing lunatics’ rhetoric like gospel.
it’s scary that someone with a vehement following would allocate such energy to depriving resource-poor communities of their lifeblood, but they do, and that’s why it matters. feminism matters because when you speak out, you speak for thousands, literally millions of disenfranchised individuals who will be stripped of their few amenities if the GOP would have their way. everybody needs feminism, and your voice matters.

Jacob spoke first.
“I want to know if my hair is just like yours,” he told Mr. Obama, but so quietly that the president asked him to speak again.
Jacob did, and Mr. Obama replied, “Why don’t you touch it and see for yourself?” He brought his head level with Jacob, who hesitated.
“Touch it, dude!” Mr. Obama said.
As Jacob, who was 5, patted the presidential crown, Mr. Souza snapped.
“So, what do you think?” Mr. Obama asked.
HOW can you not love him? I will never not love Obama.
